How do our reversing sensor systems work?
Parking Sensors are an accurate ultrasonic device which monitors the distance from your vehicle to potential obstacles in your blind spot. This distance is indicated by a sequence of beeps through a Piezo beeper (in some cases also by an optional digital display). The closer the obstacle the faster the sequence of beeps, until a continuous tone is emitted indicating that your vehicle is now within 30cm of an obstacle.
Ultrasonic Reverse Parking Sensor Systems electronically scan the area behind your vehicle during reversing procedures and acoustically alarms you to other vehicles or objects within close proximity.

ALERT ZONES
LeatherFX rear sensors systems have 4 zones and have different tones for each of them. This makes the system very user friendly.

DOES YOUR VEHICLE HAVE A TOW BAR?
EXTENDED ZONE
For vehicles fitted with a tow bar, our reversing sensor control module feature an adjustable extended zone which allows the system to ‘see’ past the obstruction by pushing the start of the first zone out by 30cm. Refer Diagrams below.

FLAT BUMPER SENSOR

Most commonly used sensor head – required to be at least 450 mm above ground level on a vertical surface. This sensor head can be painted to match your vehicles colour.
10 DEGREE SENSOR

Used on curved surfaces and can be installed 10 degree up or down to straighten out the line of sight for the ultrasonic signal. This sensor head can be painted to match your vehicles colour.
FLAT RUBBER SENSOR

Used on metal bars to avoid interference. Extremely durable to harsh weather conditions. NOT paintable
10 DEGREE RUBBER SENSOR

Used on curved surfaces and can be installed 10 degree up or down to straighten out the line of sight for the ultrasonic signal. Used on metal bars to avoid interference. NOT paintable.
